Hi, I’m Kim

I am a wife and a mom to 5 kids ages 6-17. I have lived in Carlsbad for over 30 years. I am a multiple-subject credentialed teacher and offer small group classes and tutoring for grades K-2 in my home based classroom.. 

I teach classes in art, science, and social studies.

I also provide small group tutoring in math and language arts. I have access to all the manipulative and resources at my fingertips to help children in both language arts and mathematics. I start by assessing each child to see where I can help them best. They are then placed into a group with other children with similar needs. We work on word work like phonics and sight words and for math we focus on a lot of number sense with the use of various manipulatives.

I only tutor in small groups. I find it beneficial for the children to learn in a group setting, where they can practice together through various activities and games. 

I am background checked and have liability insurance. I partner with several charter schools and can receive funds.
